A young delivery rider fights to secure the rights of migrant workers and to shape his own future in Argentina in the post-pandemic world.

23-year-old Mareco is a migrant delivery app rider in Buenos Aires. The work is easy to pick up, but he is increasingly troubled by the low pay, long hours, and unsafe working conditions.

He reconnects with his past and emerges as a leader in the fight for legislation to regulate this 21st-century hustle. Reliant upon migrants and unregulated, the app economy has exploded worldwide. Carlos’ life is that of tens of thousands of riders in Argentina and elsewhere. His struggle to survive, and succeed in forging a new future, is their struggle, in outline if not detail, and is a portrait of the human cost of convenience in an increasingly digital world.
